Dental Services Auburn MA

Woman getting dental exam and cleaning from Demi Athans, DMDTaking good care of your teeth and gums is an important part of life. A beautiful smile not only looks good, but it is also an indicator of your overall health. Studies have shown that systemic illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, are directly linked to oral health complications like periodontal (gum) disease.

At D.A. Dental, our goal is to help you maintain excellent oral health and improve your overall quality of life. Our services include preventive, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry. If you are in need of any professional dental treatment, you have come to the right place!

Family Dentistry

A large part of our practice involves family dentistry. We take great pride in treating every member of the family, from infants to grandparents! These treatments are often simple and straightforward, designed to prevent potential problems. A routine appointment typically consists of professional cleaning and check-up exam. We may also recommend an oral cancer screening for adults, and fluoride treatment for children. If we notice any instances of tooth decay or gum disease, you may need restorative treatment.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is designed to fix any problems you may have with your teeth, gum tissues, jaw, and bone structure. We may recommend a dental filling to correct instances of minor or moderate decay. If the damage is substantial, you may need a dental crown. A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that improves the function and aesthetics of the tooth. If the tooth is beyond saving, Demi Athans, DMD will perform a tooth extraction. Tooth loss is much more common then you may think. For this reason, we offer several replacement solutions, some of which include bridges, dental implants, and dentures.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry has grown significantly over the past few decades thanks to advancements in technology and technique. Cutting-edge equipment allows us to improve the size, shape, color, and overall appearance of an unsightly tooth. The cosmetic services we provide include teeth whitening, porcelain crowns, dental sealants, and dental veneers & bonding. Teeth whitening treatment is one of the most common procedures we perform due to its effectiveness. We may recommend a porcelain crown for both restorative and cosmetic purposes. The same is true for dental veneers. Both restorations are fabricated using porcelain because of its unmatched aesthetic value.

Tooth Extraction

There are two types of tooth extractions: simple and surgical. We perform a simple extraction on a tooth that has already erupted above the gumline. We perform a surgical extraction on a tooth that has become impacted, or has yet to erupt, such as wisdom teeth. Extraction may be necessary to prevent the spread of infection and other complications.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is a last-ditch effort to save a tooth from extraction. We may recommend a root canal if an infection has spread to the “pulpy” center of the tooth that contains nerve endings and other connective tissues. Once the infection has been removed, we fill the canals with a rubber-like material known as gutta-percha. A tooth that has received root canal treatment typically needs to be capped with a crown.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small titanium post that we surgically embed into the jawbone. The implant serves as the root component of a prosthetic tooth. Once the implant is in place, it will fuse to the bone during the process of osseointegration. Osseointegration allows the implant to support a restoration against the strongest forces of your bite. For this reason, dental implants are widely considered to be the next best thing to your natural teeth.

We offer clear aligners as a discrete alternative to traditional orthodontic treatments, such as braces. Aligner treatment involves a series of trays that gradually move your teeth to a more proper position. We often recommend clear aligners for adult patients who do not want their treatment to get in the way of their personal or professional life.

Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles are clear braces specifically engineered to correct the alignment of your front teeth in just six months. Six Month Smiles have many advantages over comprehensive braces. They require less time, there is less risk involved, and they can be quite discreet.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy alleviates pain and saves infected teeth by removing the infected pulp, cleaning the tooth's interior, and sealing it to prevent future infections, restoring the tooth's health and function.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are custom-made porcelain shells designed to cover imperfections such as chips, stains, and gaps. They provide a natural, flawless appearance, enhancing the overall look of your smile.

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening treatments effectively remove stubborn stains caused by coffee, tea, or tobacco, resulting in a significantly brighter and whiter smile.

Dental Fillings

Dental fillings repair cavities and minor tooth damage using composite resin materials that blend seamlessly with your natural tooth color, providing a durable and aesthetically pleasing result.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns restore and strengthen damaged teeth by covering them with custom-made caps. These crowns match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth, ensuring a strong and natural-looking restoration.

Periodontal Care

Comprehensive periodontal care involves deep cleaning, scaling, and root planing to treat and prevent gum disease. This care helps maintain healthy gums and supports overall oral health.

Biolase Laser Dentistry

Biolase laser dentistry offers minimally invasive treatments using advanced laser technology. This technique enhances precision, reduces discomfort, and speeds up healing for various dental procedures, providing a gentler and more efficient dental experience.
